“Send more DMs”

“Write more replies”

“Post 20 times a day”

We’re seeing a lot of this type of advice at the moment and I don’t think it’s helpful.

Most people start writing on social media because they want to earn money, but along the way 90% get lost and start focusing on the wrong thing.

That wrong thing being followers & engagement.

Don’t get me wrong, they are important.

But they’re not what you should prioritise.

At the end of the day, getting tons of comments/likes/etc on your posts feels good. But it doesn’t directly lead to any revenue.

And this is the trap people fall into.

They think “I’ll just hit 5/10/20k followers and then I’ll monetise”

Wrong logic…

The best way to build a business AND an audience is to monetise, and share the journey with your content.

That way you can have your cake and eat it.

You need an offer first and foremost. Then take it to market with your content.

Money in the bank is nicer than followers.

Stop focusing on the wrong thing.
